Submit to Issue 05

We are looking for writing pieces up to five pages long. We are also interested in art pieces of any sort, whether it’s a sculpture, photography piece, digital piece, or painting/drawing. If you are submitting a physical OR digital art piece we ask that you submit a decent quality photo (an image file) of your work that is clear and easy to see. As for writing pieces, we ask that you submit them in PDF form and include your name, contact information (email, preferably), and title at the top of the first page (this is simply to keep track of whose piece is whose when reviewing submissions). Thank you for your interest in submitting to The Phonebook Magazine! We are excited to review your work.

Please Note:

  • We are currently open to multiple submissions (we are encouraging them at this time due to our lack of staff).

  • Art submissions (specifically photography) can be submitted as a series.

  • Please do not submit any work here that has already been published elsewhere. If you are simultaneously submitting something to The Phonebook and another publisher, please let us know if it is accepted elsewhere by emailing us at thephonebookmagazine@gmail.com.

  • Submissions are now closed.

Submit to Haiku Fridays

Want to submit to Haiku Fridays? Here are the guidelines and some general information:

  • Your haiku can be about anything and everything, and does not have to be a specific genre.

  • Make sure that your haiku follows the standard haiku format: contains three lines only (no more, no less), the first being 5 syllables, the second being 7 and the third being 5 once again.

  • We aren't looking for state of the art poetry, just something interesting and meaningful to you, so have fun with this!

  • Submissions for Haiku Fridays do not have a deadline, so feel free to submit whenever you want, as the submissions will be open unless we announce otherwise.

  • Depending on the volume of submissions we receive, we may not be able to respond to every person who submits. Rather, we will respond only to those who we choose to feature. If you do not receive an email from us informing you that we have chosen your work, then you can assume one of two things: we have chosen not to publish your haiku OR we are planning on publishing it in the future, and simply did not feature it that week.

  • As always, please do not submit any work here that has already been published elsewhere. If you are simultaneously submitting something to The Phonebook and another publisher, please let us know if it is accepted elsewhere by emailing us at thephonebookmagazine@gmail.com.

  • Please submit your haiku as a PDF file.
